if you still have the old rack,did you see any type of adjustment for rack/pinion mesh?i've studied mine extensively from what i can see with it installed and feeling blindly the top side, and wonder if there is anything on the rack that is not visable from the bottom looking up.
the stub coming from the rack seems to have a slight amount of side to side play.i've replaced the universal since one of the u-joints was loose.i noticed the stub play(a couple mm's at best) while tugging on the connection.thanks,dave
