A 92 or 93 245 would be a nice choice. The ABS brakes are of course a great safety feature, as I'm sure most of your other cars had.

When well maintained, they can be a real pleasure to drive. The 91-up cars also have the flush windshield and back glass, plus the extra door seals to help keep them quiet. They're almost all automatics, and it's a quite well behaved 4-speed automatic. It's not as modern as some cars, but it has all the basics and most of the "necessary" extras- driver's airbag, power locks & windows, possibly power mirrors and heated mirrors in the 93's.
Maybe dress one of these up with some alloys from a 240 Turbo or a 740.

At that, the 91- up 740 or 940 is not a bad choice. The later cars all have ABS, and dual airbags are available in 1994. The level of creature comforts are a bit better than the 240. Many people prefer the driving position of the 7/9 and the easier height-adjustable seats.
Maintenance on all of these is basically the same- tuneups at 30K, timing belts at 50K (100K for 93-up models) and they share an awful lot of engine and mechanical parts (rear brakes for example are all the same.)

With any of these, get it to a shop and have it checked out. Be prepared to walk away if the car has accident damage, rust starting, or any other serious fault identified by the mechanic. See the FAQ- Buying a 700/900 for lots more good general info.
