In the case of your 240 it has four wheel speed sensors and it simply monitors the speed of each wheel and when one or more wheels spins slower or even stops the ABS pump modulates. When it modulates it literally cycles fluid out of the offending caliper until it speeds up to where the other wheels are. The idea is to keep all four wheels at the point of impending lock up. If they are locked up you are skidding across the pavement and not slowing down. If they are rolling along at the point JUST before they lock up you are slowing the vehicle as rapidly as it can and still retaining your ability to steer it. So long as you are running the same size wheels and tires it should not be a problem. On a lot of your SUV's, mini vans, and similar vehicles you have a circuit that monitors wheel speed as an indicator of tire inflation. When you get any new tires installed you have to reset this feature so the computer knows where it's base line is. In my experience though a new tire on one of these vehicles will set off the low air pressure warning light and not the ABS light. Is the one tire you replaced on your Exploder the same size as the other 3?
