Just take the distributor out, *carefully* pull up the drive gear until it loses mesh with the gear on the cam, and turn it a tooth or two in the direction you need it to go, then push it back down. The only tricky part is getting it to re-engage with the oil pump and go back down the last 1/3rd nch or so - for that you need to gently push down on it and turn the motor over (I generally bump the starter, but there are probably other less exciting ways to do it).
