They function as advertised, but don't expect them to be pretty. They'll pass the 10-ft. test on looks, but get closer, you'll know it was a repair job.
How badly is the damage anyways? Lesser damage can be repaired with a 2-part clear epoxy. Run a search ... I did a writeup some time ago here.
BTW, DO NOT be tempted to save a few dollars on aftermarket lights. Both of the nice and shiny ones on the '90 have melted sockets. One is so badly distorted that you can't even properly put the bulb holder back in. They were installed just about one year ago (4k miles) by the previous owner's mechanic with all new bulbs.
