The shift indicator light on the 1997 960 comes on intermittently when the dash lights are on.
Pressing the shift knob release repeatly will sometimes get the lights on. At other times, nudging the shift lever to the right and left will get the lights working. Neither cure is premanent.
Will spraying electronic cleaner down the central shaft of the shift lever get to the electrical fault? Taking off all that trim is a bit of a pain!
