Problems removing auto-shift cover - please help! 200 1992

This isn't going to help your no-start, but I don't understand where you were working.

I've taken the Auto shifter cover off a '93 240 recently, and with the center "dust brush" off, there are only two screws at the front of the outer shell—one on each side and neither had a ground wire.
