At one time, I was young and broke. I took a job at one of those quickie-lube places run by a major oil maker.
I won't say the name, but it rhymes with "Balvoline" :)
To get my next promotion (read: $0.15/hr raise, no change in job) I had to pass a "test". This test was comprised of having my manager look over my shoulder while I serviced a car, whith a checklist in his hand.
So anyhow, this made me a little nervous. When the service was complete, I had the customer start her car. I was to look over her shoulder for the "oil" light to go out. It didn't.
So I had her stop the engine, and went to double-check my work.
I NEVER PUT ANY OIL IN HER CAR!!
Well, I filled the crankcase, and all was just fine. I finished up and sent her on her way.
I told the manager, "Well, I guess that means I failed my test."
His reply? "No you didn't. You only got ONE THING WRONG. Everything else was perfect."
PERFECT??? Since when is running a car without oil PERFECT??
