Hi Guys,
Thanks for your replies.
It seems as the problem is becomming progressively worse. I noticed today that where before the light would go out at about 1,200 rpm, now it has to reach about 1,800 rpm before it goes out.
Today I replaced the oil pressure sensor and the low oil pressure light problem still exists.
Being as I don't hear any rod knock (just the usual piston slap), I can't bring myself to believe excess bearing clearance is causing the problem.
I have resigned myself to the fact that it is either the pump or feed tube o-rings. Unless anyone has any better ideas, I'll replace the pump and o-rings. I'm certianly not going to all of the trouble of dropping the pan only to swap out a couple of o-rings and hope that that was the problem.
I have a reasonably equipped garage, but I don't know if I want to tackle this one or farm it out. Any suggestions?
Thanks again,
Greydog
