B20 Short block/ Long Block Engines 1800

The 7/16"-14UNC bolts screw into the M12-1.75 holes loosely. 1.75mm works
out to about 14.5 threads per inch and 12mm is about 0.475". This is not an
optimum arrangement where strength is required.

On the 8-bolt block the maincap bolts and the bellhousing bolts have the
same thread. The holes in the bellhousing are big enough that the 12mm bolts
go through them OK. The holes in the bottom of the block for oilpan and
bellhousing support bracket are still Unified (inch-size) threads.
