The one in the picture above is the standard version of the Valp; the L3314. The one you are referring to is the L3304. This was a series of ca. 300 cars built in 1963-64, based on the L3314. The 90 mm Bofors gun could come in handy in today's traffic.

PS: In those days (late 50s, early 60s), Volvo often chose animal names for their vehicles, except for the standard cars:
Truck: Volvo Bamse (Bamse = pet name for bear)
Tractor: Volvo Terrier (Terrier = well, terrier; the dog) (B16 engine!)
Jeep: Volvo Valp ("puppy")
