If you wait a bit to actually get it fixed - for whatever reason - one easy thing to do to make it stay up is to use decorotive straight pins - pushed in at an angle into the more solid material behind the cloth. Wife did this in a pattern years back on a 740 that the cloth came loose on - using multiple color round pin heads.

Actually, it looked pretty good when it was finished - sorta like a starry sky. I sold the car before I fixed it back right.
