I used to have a leaking problem with my sunroof as well. I thought it was the seal going along the perimeter of the sunroof but upon closer inspection I realized it was not. As I was driving in the rain one day I saw it was coming from the upper part of the sunroof, not the edge seal. That's not a very good way to describe it... if you are looking at the sunroof from above, there is a rubber (plastic?) part that lays on top of the glass all the way around, that's where my leak was coming from. I applied some kind of stop leak sealant to where the glass meets this material and have not had a leak since.
I can only describe it as the upper seal, not the edge seal. Hope that helps!
