I seem to have solved a starting/low idle issue that came up with my '87 740 GLE. I had cleaned the throttle body and IAC (really good instructions in the FAQ. the throttle body comes off in about 10 minutes). Cleaning those helped, but the main problem persisted. I have just swapped out the fuel injection relay (white one 2nd row back on left side) a day ago, and it seems to have done it. I will keep my fingers crossed. Not quite sure how the old relay was bad, because the car started and ran, just not too much power sometimes and bad idle when warm. You could try to see if the relay is seated well, or getting hot, but I recommend cleaning the TD and IAC as well.
