If you need a new compressor anyway, might as well pop a Sanden 709 in there, it is a larger more efficient compressor. It will bolt right in, though you may need to move the AMM bracket up about an inch ( easy )
they have them here cheap http://www.nostalgicairparts.com/COMPRESSORS.htm
and they can rig the compressor with a back plate that has fittings on it and drain the factory oil and put the correct oil for volvo in it before they ship very reasonably( they also have a drier etc for you car, just not on the website )
