Kane's got it.

Plastic shroudy-poo stuff at the BACK of the cars is COSMETIC.

Plastic shrouding (e.g. belly pan under the engine) is NOT cosmetic.
It excludes water, and dirt.
Promotes air flow.
Cures acne.
etc.
