Nivomat Replacement 700

I replaced my Nivomats last night and I wanted to post feedback while it was still fresh in my mind. The archives didn't have alot on the actual replacement. On an '89 765, the job couldn't have been easier. It is NOT necessary to compress the old or new shocks to remove them from either side. They can be worked out of their locations extended. Turn the bottom shock bushing sideways and it will clear the mounting point easier. It may be helpful to lift and lower the control arm with a jack to make it easier to start the lower bolts.

The car has 213 k miles on it and the rear shocks have made a tremendous difference in the ride. Total time for the job was only 1.5 hours, including setting the car up on jackstands. Definitely a DIY job for all but the faint of heart. It doesn't even require more than about three sockets. Cheap commercial plug: I bought my replacements at fcpgroton. Thanks, Nick.

HTH someone else,
