How do you know when to replace your struts? 200 1986

That's a good question, because as the hydraulic parts of the strut cartridge wear, the performance degrades slowly and unnoticably. The difference after replacement is immediate. You can jounce the front end until your palms turn blue, but unless you have a lot of experience, or a car with new suspension to compare with, you're not approaching the definition of "definitive".
