Tunning problems fixed on the 72 142 140-160 1972

Hello all. Thanks for the great advice on my last post about tunning problems related to getting the idle, timming and dwell all where I wanted them. Here is what happened:
I was unable to get the idle below ~1200 RPM's with the timming above 5 deg. As it turns out the Aux air valve was faulty. I found this out by clamping the inlet hose to the aux air valve and the idle dropped dramaticly. So I knew it was bad. I removed teh inlet hose taped it over with duct tape and put the hose back on. Then I adjusted the throtle switch which was way out of adjust ment. The car now feels like I put NOS on it!! There is all kinds of power that was missing before.

So thanks again for all the good advice and anyone else who is having these problems should try the same process.

Wayne
