Colin,
I had my 71 142E seats recovered with black vinyl and they look great. It was about $350 total for both seats at a small shop in rural Texas. Now I live in MA and it would probably be a heck of a lot more expensive.
I would find a local shop that does 60's and 70's musclecars and have it done there. Nothing beats quality local work, when done right.
