Go for it. it was my first repair job- its definitely a pain, and involves some cut fingers, scraped knuckles, cursing, etc. but you'll feel great when you get it done. take your time- there are two different schools of thought- remove the whole dash, or work around it.- I left the dash in, it took me a while, but I got it done. My mechanic quoted me 800-900 for the job, I did it (and fixed various other things) for less than 100. replace the resistor and switch while you're at it- you'll be happy you did.
