Those springs are pretty strong. I removed and replaced mine as follows:
1. Get the biggest slip joint pliers you can or a brake spring pliers.
2. Decide where you can anchor the pliers opposite the row of springs on the other side of the seat.
3. Bend a length of coat hanger wire so that it will hook on the fully opened jaw of the pliers and then reach to hook on the spring.
4. Then hook the pliers and spring, close the pliers, and guide the spring off of the wire grid. Sometimes a small screwdriver helps in moving the loop on the spring off the grid.
You can put the springs back on this way too but it ain't easy.
