Heater core replacement, 700 1987

Is it leaking? If not I would let it be, let a sleeping dog lie. The heater core is not considered a preventative maintenanace item as are the hoses etc. Do not worry, if it should spring a leak you can easily bypass it at the valve till it can be replaced. They do not often fail. My old 88 740 went over 300K with the original, sold it a year ago and the new owner has had no trouble. That heater core is outliving 3 rads and multiple hose changes.
