seems tempting to try it yourself. In which case, you might consider the following :
Ether properties :
highly flammable !
melting/freezing point : -177°F / -116°C
flash point : -40°F / -40°C
boiling point : 94°F / 34°C
vapor can travel more distance than you would expext, so all open flames and hot surfaces to be avoided.
In view of the low flash point, you would prefer to chill with CO2-ice at -87°F/-66°C, instead of an ice & salt mixture (only approx 0°F / -17°C).
