I did a few more tests but no success. The coil puts out a nice fat spark from with the center wire held close to the valve cover. I get about 0 volts with the chopper wheel disk directly lined up with the photoelectric light. About 11 volts otherwise. So I guess the XR 700 is working properly and the coil is good. Visual inspection of the trigger points says they are good. Changed cap and rotor just to try another. I have not pulled the fuel rail. I guess thats next. What other tests should I do. Thanks again.
