The odds are very good that his wire broke in the middle of the run somewhere. I just cannot suggest crimped connectors in there where a little twisting will always take place.

Also, he didn't say what year. Important 'cause '67 and later use the 140-style pinned coupler and the horn wire has to "loop" around the connection (a good place to find a break). I put a connector here for future access.
