The original engine for a '63 was most definitely a B18. But at this point, most original motors have been rebuilt or replaced.
The B20 is a popular replacement. There were four flavors: B20A (single carb & 8.7:1 compression ratio), B20B (dual carbs & 9.5:1 compression ratio), B20E (fuel injection & 10.5:1 compression ration), and B20F (fuel injection & 8.7:1 compression ratio). Dollars to doughnuts you have a B20B.
The valve clearances are the same (0.016-0.018) for all but the B20B, which should be adjusted to 0.020-0.022.
