Hey, I just recharged my '89 244 where the dryer is front mounted and i did the pressure switch jump test before posting here. i already have put in oil and stop leak and plently of R-12a in(the required amount+). Any ideas? the condenser runs when jumped and while running puts out about 37PSI which is like 47degrees. So far i have put in about 5 cans of R-12a in just to get it up that high, according to the instructions it says it only needs about 2-3, but i cant get the compressor to stay on. Do you know what PSI the switch kicks on so i can figure out if my switch is bad? Also, when the compressor is running i see NOTHING in the little spot glass thing. Thank you!
Also, could it be the switch? its the rheostat type switch. could that keep the compressor from staying engaged.
Oh yea, heres another thing, when i jump the switch to engage the compressor, the air out of the vents never seems cold...i bought the car last may, and i didnt use the car last summer, so this is the first i have tried the AC.
