I'm not intending to second guess the folks who have suggested alternator trouble, however, the symptoms sound a lot like a bad ground in the charging system. If the ground opens, no power, anywhere. If the ground is high resistance, i.e. corroded, down to one strand in the wire, the voltage dropped across the bad connection would show up as low voltage elsewhere in the system.
I think there is a charging system ground (negative polarity side of the system) wire connection on or near your alternator (black wire maybe). There should also be a ground strap somewhere between the engine block and chassis. These grounds need to be in good shape and not corroded or broken.
I think others have indicated a glowing charge light can also indicate a bad ground.
One of the other posts indicates a wire repair.
Good luck
