Hello Young Mr. Downs:

The first turbocharged Volvo was the 1981 240 Turbo. B21FT motor with a Garrett TD-04 oil cooled turbocharger produced 130 hp and 150 ft-lbs. An intercooler was added later (1984?) and output increased to 162hp and 187 ft-lbs. In the mid 80's, this was very impressive output for a 2.1L motor. With a manual transmission the 240 turbo's are still no slouch.
