?? Help needed ! Mount Ohc engine in older Volvo?

Alright I have to ask, what the hell are you talking about?!?!!?
Install the engine vertically? HUH? Last time I checked the two conventional ways to install a motor were inline or transverse. Vertical as I understand it would entail standing the engine on end, you know with the fan pointed straight up, as in vertical?

You have a twin cam, can this possibly be interpretted as a B234 or a 16 valve motor? What about the oil pump? Um, if it is a 16V motor the oil pump is more or less externally mounted down in the left front corner of the block and is driven off of the timing belt.

Money is an issue so we are going to try to scab a different motor into an 1800 instead of running a stock B20. Again I have to say what are you thinking, IF and I say IF you do get a 16V in and running in your 1800 it won't be because it was cheaper than going with the stock configuration.

At any rate please clarify some of this stuff like your oil pump/pan concerns and your attempt at installing the engine vertically. It should make for an interesting read if nothing else.

Mark
