My 1974 145e has fuel injection, four wheel power disc dual-circuit brakes, retractable shoulder belts, collapsible steering column and crumple zones, cruises at 75, gets 25mpg, has a 6 foot long flat floor, is strong enough to carry 8 sheet of drywall on the roof, rides very comfortably, handles acceptably, has excellent ventilation and heat, has 275,000 miles, cost $750 for a complete engine rebuild, and has stalk controls for wiper, washer and highbeams.
And it's bright orange.
I don't think they've made much progress since then.
I've had 240 and 700's. I've drive the FWD cars. They feel like FWD cars.
