If you're handy with a soldering iron you can try some repairs. In the left rear section of the circuit board there are three transistors mounted parallel to the side of the radio. They're in a line and all you can see are the three prongs of each one sticking up through the board. The pin solder joints often crack w/ age and can be resoldered if you're careful. Thats about all you can try usless there's an obvious problem w/ one of the fuses plugged into the back of the radio. I've gone through a few or these on my '89 and have found that once the display goes you're pretty much out of luck. To get the radio out you first need to remove both knob sets. To the outside of each knob opening there is a metal tab with a small slot. Stick a small screwdriver into each slot and bend the tabs inward. You can do this by pushing outwards on both screwdrivers. Then with you third hand you can grab another screwdriver and pry the radio out. Once it comes out a quarter inch or so you can let go of the tabs. There's always one or two on e-bay but the condition is questionable and the prices seem to be edging up. The radio has two types of connectors so be sure to specify which one you have if you buy one on line. You might try some local indy mechanics. Some do keep a few of these around. Good luck.
