Unless something is dead broke, the dizzy likely only needs a good cleaning upon disassembly. Any burrs in the weight area can be polished out and you are on the road again.
Once clean, you can always install a pertronix unit and only open to lube the shaft (one drop under the rotor every 3000 miles!).
