Check the plug on the lower part of the distributor and make sure it is not disconnected. If the car just stopped suddenly it is probably an ignition problem, the distributor connection being the first thing to check. Also check the coil wires. Next would be an air hose between the aircleaner and the intake manifold (or between the turbo and the intake manifold if a turbo). The air hoses would cause a misfiring and slow cutoff rather than a sudden one.
