Sadly, I can't help you (maybe the Bentley manual explains; I'll have to look next time I come across it), but I, too, am interested in the method of taking apart the emergency brake cover--if I ever want to install power mirrors in my car, I'll probably have to go through the same process that you use to clean the switches.
