I don't have a hot rolic press either and I have done this job on 122s, a 164
and a 145 without any serious problem. Just gotta remember that there is a LOT
of energy stored in that spring so release it very slowly with appropriate
blocking and bracing. You can make a puller with a long bolt and assorted
washers and bushings, pipe fittings, etc
