Art,

Excellent information. When I checked the TPS and ECT, I DID in fact remove the plastic cover from the ECU wiring harness and measured at ground and pin 13(for ect) and pin 2 (for TPS). Both were within spec.

I will check the Idle control valve. Is there any reason why the idle control valve would cause poor fuel mileage? I'd think a faulty idle control valve would affect economy and performance at idle, but not while running at non-idle.

I"ll take a peek at the ICV. Further suggestions and guidance from you Volvo gurus welcomed!
