Surprising to hear about two mufflers dying in six months. The seam is at the top, this can't be rust!?! I've found the weak point in non-turbos to be the axle pipe where it joins the rear muffler, before either muffler itself. But even this has taken five years on a seldom fully warmed up short-trip car. On his turbo, without resonator I believe, if like mine, I am wondering if some unburned fuel is detonating in the Starla.
