Yes it was the Cloyes set. I spoke to the factory and they said that sometimes the cam gear expands to much, eliminating the backlash in the gears. According to them, they either work or not. The steel set seems rather generic (lots of suppliers of the same thing) and was machined better and seemed to fit better, they also had more helix (the Cloyes had less helix than stock, the steel looks the same) to keep them quite. Some people have made comments about the weight of the steel sets, but I don't think that matters all that much for a stock application. Having a running engine again is great.
