I have a similar problem with my daughter's Mazda. I suspect the system is overcharged. Does anyone know if A/C systems include a high pressure cut-off switch to prevent the buildup of dangerously high pressures? Her problem also occurs only at highway speeds on hot days - which is exactly when the high side pressure would be at a maximum. If that's true, I'm thinking the solution is to bleed off excess R134a.
