Different kind of brake problem 140-160

The guy at Power Brake Booster Exchange in Oregon said there were two different styles. He says he can rebuild the earlier type (naturally the one I don't have). He identified them by the band that surrounds the two halves.
One is crimped on both sides (later style) and the other is only crimped on one side (early style).
He can rebuild the one side crimp style.
Sound like one of yours?
