944t manual???

Whether they did or not, it doesn't matter much; an M46 and pedals, etc., from a 740 will drop in easily, but you need the EZ-116K flywheel from an LH2.4 equipped car.
T-5s, Getrags from BMWs, and some Toyota Supra trannies are proven alternatives(you still need that flywheel).
If you've got time to search through a lot of misinformation and testosterone-teenie crud, it's all been discussed ad infinitum on turbobricks.
