It's not pot metal, and I have welded it with my Lincoln Buzz Box -- and it has held fine. That said, if you can't get it welded, and if you can't find an intact replacement, contact me off line, and I can, at least send you, my welded one, which I replaced with a virgin a while ago, and which must still be somewhere in my, as George D. calls it, "Culch Pile."
