I have a 1990 740GL and when I start it up in the morning sometimes it takes 3-4 cranks to get started and other times it starts on 2 then dies when the rpms go down.
Sometimes they go down then all the sudden shoot back up to 1500rpm like a sudden burst of gas or air.
I have heard it could be a dirty IAC, so i took my out but was confused when the instructions said to:
"Open the rotating valve to expose the innards. Spray some carburettor or fuel injector cleaner into the opening and shake it around"
Mine is just one solid piece I think and don't know how it could rotate and open
it looks like this. should i just dump fuel injection cleaner in it?
also how important is it for the flametrap to be connected securely w/o leaking air? because mine has a crack on the hose that fits on the flametrap, it's on there but i'm sure air could be leaking.
Any help would be appreciated thanks
