Tom,

D type solenoid is on passenger side, J type is on drivers side (this is for left hand drive cars)

I think that the 'D' is fine for a car (like mine anyways) that's not going to be putting out more than 110-120 HP . But I'm no expert, I'm going by what I've read in the past on Brickboard and the 1800list.

I also have read other posts in past which say the 'J' is beefier, stronger, handles more power. Maybe the J is better for a car which has performance enhancements, but again I'm no expert.
