Stalling 700 1990

My 740 GLE wagon began stalling when I came to a stop. It would not holding it's idle speed then stall out. My mechanic did the diagnostic reading on it and came up with nothing.He mentioned that it could be the air mass meter, but he couldn't be sure. It seems to stall more in hot weather. Any thoughts out there?
