switch to synthetic oil? 900

I have 1994 940 Wagon with 116,000 miles on it...should I switch to synthetic oil? I have read the maintenance piece here and read a lot about pros and cons of making the switch, some say don't in a high mileage vehicle...

I have no problems now, I am only interested because I have heard that the syn. help improve gas mileage.

If it is recommended what type and rating should I use?
