While I'm geting my injector situation sorted out, I have my valve cover off for easier access to the injectors. This also makes the temperature sensor more visible, which reminded me of another thing I should take care of -- my erratic temp gauge. The needle goes right into the red at idle, and driving, it usually hangs around at the 3/4 point. Then, all of a sudden, it stays in, or pretty close to, the red at highway speeds, to drop back to 2/3 a few days (or miles) later. This no longer worries me. I've checked the coolant temperature many times, and it never goes above 175°F, with the thermostat open. Although marked 180°, the thermostat is a little premature, but that's all right. I've done all the usual things to make sure there is no air in the system. I've swapped the sensor - no change. So, it's the gauge, or, more precisely, the resistor-like thingy behind it. I've also swapped gauges, but none of my spares are in better shape, so they all behave more or less erratically. So, I'm thinking of hanging an after-market gauge below the dash just to assure myself that I really know what is going on with the coolant temperature. Questions: 1) Can I attach an after market gauge to the existing sensor? 2) Can I run both gauges on the same sensor at the same time?
