On the '88 (LH 2.2) you won't have voltageto the pump until the ECU sees Ignition OK pulses from the ICU (cranking and running). But jumping +12V from LEFT side of 6 to LEFT side of 4 should have done it.
Check at the pump terminals again. This time with fuses jumpered (Key On won't put voltage there). If still no voltage, check the connector under the back seat (driver's side). The wire color changes from Yellow-Red to plain Yellow. The pump ground is right there too.
